Morocco

July 6th - 11th, 2026

Experience Marrakesh through a lens of ease, culture, and connection. This five-night journey is designed for travelers who want to slow down, breathe deeply, and immerse themselves in the beauty of Morocco. You’ll wander vibrant souks, savor rooftop sunsets and unwind in a traditional hammam, all while staying in a serene riad tucked inside the medina. With thoughtful inclusions, spacious free time, and a group rooted in community and belonging. This is a journey that honors who we are, how we gather, and the magic we make when we travel together.

Lesbifriends Travel will be at Afro Nation in Portugal this summer as guests, and we’d love for you to join us there before we head to Morocco. Our Morocco journey begins the very day the festival ends, making it easy to flow from turn-up to wind-down with the same community. If you’d like to join us in Morocco, we’re offering an optional flight add-on from Portugal to Marrakesh so you can transition seamlessly into the next part of the adventure.

If you plan on attending, be sure to book your festival package directly through Afro Nation HERE. Feel free to reach out to us if you want to know where we will be staying so you can be close by. See you there!

Photos are examples; actual room may vary slightly based on availability and accommodation alignment.

The Accommodations

You’ll spend five nights in a traditional riad tucked inside a walkable part of the medina. Think carved wooden doors, lush tilework, a tranquil courtyard pool, and a rooftop terrace perfect for catching the call to prayer at sunrise. Rooms are elegant, atmospheric, and designed with the spirit of Moroccan hospitality. From mint tea on the terrace to sunbathing on the rooftop, your stay is centered on rest, culture, and sensory immersion.

NOTE: ITINERARY IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE

Day One

TOUCHDOWN IN MOROCCO

For those departing Portugal, we share hugs and our farewells.

For those of us continuing on, we fly to Marrakesh and transition from beach party to cultural immersion. After arrival and check-in, enjoy welcome tea by the courtyard pool then head on a gentle evening medina orientation walk. We end with our signature welcome dinner on a rooftop under rose-gold skies.

Day Two

INTO THE MOUNTAINS

A full-day escape into the Atlas foothills. Wander stone paths, meet local communities, and enjoy a Berber lunch overlooking terraced landscapes. It’s a grounding, beautiful shift from the city’s bustle.

Once we return to our riad, enjoy dinner on your own or with the group, cost is not included.

Day Three

STEAM, SCRUB + BLISS

Begin your free day with a traditional hammam and massage (at an additional cost), a full reset for body and spirit. Spend the afternoon wandering the medina or exploring nearby boutiques, cafés, museums, or simply relax by the pool.

Day Four

SOUKS, STORIES + STOVETOPS

Spend your final full day exploring the medina’s colorful souks, where pottery, leather goods, spices, and textiles line every corner and each stall feels like an invitation to wander. Then we’ll join a cooking class, creating a traditional meal that will make us feel closer to the Moroccan culture.

Day Five

FREE DAY, FLOATING WONDERS + FINALE

Take the day your own pace, whether you’re relaxing at the riad, exploring a favorite corner of the medina, or joining the optional hot air balloon ride (at an additional cost). In the evening, we come together for a warm farewell dinner, closing out our time in Morocco with good food, good company, and one last rooftop view.

Day Six

UNTIL NEXT TIME

After breakfast, private transfers will take you to the airport for your journey home. Marrakesh lingers in the senses, the colors, the sounds, and the warmth. You’ll carry the magic of this experience long after the trip ends.

  • You love to have a great time and are open to meeting others and accept the different personalities you will encounter

  • You have a tendency to be negative or dramatic or are just plain depressing to be around

  • You're not into trying new things or stepping outside of your comfort zone

  • You don’t like Moroccan food; that is what we’ll be eating every day

  • You have very specific and particular travel preferences and tend to criticize everything around you

  • You can’t easily walk up stairs; if you find walking tough, then this trip isn’t suited to you

  • You are looking for luxury; North African standards are not the same as it is in the USA, however, if you keep an open mind, you will have a great time!

Depending on whether you’re coming to Portugal, Morocco or both please follow flight details below:

Money/Currency

The national currency of Morocco is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in major cities, hotels, and tourist areas, Visa and Mastercard are the most reliable. However, cash is still king for small shops, taxis, street vendors, and rural excursions.

You won’t need U.S. Dollars for transactions, but they can be exchanged at airports, banks, or exchange bureaus if needed. Always notify your bank before travel to avoid blocks on international purchases and check for foreign transaction fees. It’s a good idea to withdraw some local currency upon arrival, especially for tipping, markets, or day trips.

Travel Insurance

Missing a vacation is bad enough. Losing the money, you paid for your vacation is even worse. Trip insurance is therefore highly recommended. Your premium is related to your trip cost, so you don’t have to worry about being over-insured. We want to make your travel experience seamless, so sign up and we will get a travel insurance policy for you, or we can provide you with a no obligation quote. If you opt not to go with our preferred travel insurance provider, you are required to get your own and proof of insurance may be requested before the trip.

Payments and Payment Plans

All payments to Lesbifriends Travel are non-refundable and non-transferable. This is because Lesbifriends Travel has contractual agreements with hotels, airlines, and other vendors that will not allow us to obtain any refunds. This way we can keep our package prices low and allow you to make monthly payments on your vacation.

When you sign up for a trip, you are automatically signed up for monthly payments and your confirmation email will clearly note your due dates and amount. We suggest you put this payment plan on your personal calendar.

A $75 late fee will be applied to all payments made after the 3-day grace period. Your trip is subject to cancellation after two missed payments.

  • If you are traveling alone and do not want to spend the extra money for a single occupancy room, we are happy to match you with a like-minded traveler to be your roommate on this trip. We understand that the extra money spent in getting your own room takes away from the money available for you to splurge while on vacation.

For that reason, we extend each traveler the option of having us pair you with a suitable roommate for no additional cost. Roommates are paired based on room selection and a potential roommate questionnaire if there are several solo travelers. Before the trip, you will be introduced to your roommate, with plenty of time for you to get to know each other before we reach our destination.

  • Do you know someone who is interested in joining our trip but has not been to a Lesbifriend event or trip? Here is your chance to save a little money while bringing them on a trip of a lifetime!

For every traveler that you refer to our trip, you will receive up to a $150 ($25 cash, $50 current trip credit, or $75 future domestic trip credit, or $150 future international trip credit) referral bonus once that person pays in full. There is no limit to the number of people you can refer; the only condition is that anyone you refer has not already signed up with Lesbifriends.

Be sure to tell your friend to enter your name on the registration form under “Who Referred You.”
