Annual Winter Trip 2026

February 12th - 15th, 2026

Join us for our Annual Winter Trip, a cherished Lesbifriends Travel tradition that began in 2011. This Galentine’s Day weekend is all about community, connection, and care. Whether you’re coming solo, with friends, or as part of a couple, this long weekend is designed to help you rest, laugh, reconnect, and celebrate the joy of being in queer community.

From paint & sip afternoons to game nights, affirming conversations to spontaneous hot tub hangs, this isn’t your average winter getaway; it’s a cozy, collective retreat for Black queer women and nonbinary folks to feel held, seen, and celebrated. Expect affirmations, laughter, good food, and new Lesbifriendships.

The Accommodations

We’re headed back to Deep Creek, MD, where we’ll stay at a gorgeous mansion, a 15,000+ square foot luxury home designed for comfort, play, and connection. With 10 bedrooms and 13 full/half bathrooms, there’s plenty of room to spread out, come together, and enjoy all the amenities the house has to offer:

  • Heated indoor pool

  • Indoor hot tub and two outdoor tubs

  • Huge game room with billiards, foosball, arcade games

  • Private movie theater

  • Full ballroom for parties and activities

  • Two gourmet kitchens and multiple dining areas

  • Fireplaces, patios, decks, and quiet nooks for downtime

  • Breathtaking lake and mountain views

Note: Some bathrooms are shared, even if attached to bedrooms. This is a community trip, and we ask everyone to be flexible and respectful.

Day One

☕ WELCOME & ICEBREAKERS

Arrive at 5 PM, settle in, and grab a cozy drink. Settle into your room, take a tour of the beautiful property, and start mingling with fellow Lesbifriends as you prepare for a weekend of fun.

We’ll enjoy our signature welcome dinner, followed by some fun community icebreakers and game night vibes.

Day Two

🎨 CONNECT & CREATE

Start your day with a hearty brunch featuring eggs, grits, meat options (veg/non-veg), and more.

After breakfast, take a guided nature walk or enjoy the morning at your own pace. Join us in the afternoon for a Paint & Sip session, then close out the evening with our beloved Talent Showcase and a chill lounge and/or movie theatre hangout.

Day Three

💞 GALENTINE’S DAY VIBES

Celebrate community and connection on Galentine’s Day with a playful Murder Mystery Party, themed final dinner, and an affirming “Love on Each Other” community circle.

End our last night together with a house party, some dancing and a pool + hot tub wind-down under the stars.

Day Four

👋🏽 UNTIL NEXT TIME

Wake up slow and enjoy a quiet morning before heading out. A grab-and-go breakfast bar will be available with muffins, yogurt, fruit, coffee, and tea, perfect for the ride home.

We’ll take one last group photo, share hugs (and maybe a few tears), and send you off full of love, joy, and connection. Depart by 10 AM with a full heart, new Lesbifriendships, and the reminder that you’re never traveling through life alone.

  • Domestic Transportation

    Your transportation to and from is not included - but we can help you figure both out. We’ll help facilitate carpool options via group chat for those coming from the DC area. (3.5–4 hours away)

  • Travel Insurance

    Mandatory travel insurance is not included; however Basic coverage can be added on to your trip package or we can provide you with a quote for a different policy. Just add either when checking out.

  • Personal extras

    Additional activities not included in the itinerary.

  • Meals Not Mentioned

    Lunch is not included.

  • You enjoy being in nature, eating delicious food prepared by an in-house chef, a mix of physical activity and moments of stillness and quiet, and doing things that are off-the-beaten-path ideas

  • You love to have a great time, want to meet and interact with queer people of color, and accept and respect the different personalities you will encounter

 THIS TRIP IS NOT FOR YOU IF:  

  • You have a tendency to be negative or dramatic or are just plain depressing to be around

  • You're not into trying new things or stepping outside of your comfort zone

  • You don’t like the outdoors; the some of our activities on this trip require being outside in nature

  • You have very specific and particular travel preferences and tend to criticize everything around you

  • You can’t easily walk up stairs; if you find walking tough, then this trip isn’t suited to you

  • Please note: We do not accommodate children or pets on this trip

Important Information

Transportation

Check-in starts at 5pm on Thursday, Feb. 12th.  We recommend you arrive as close to that time as possible on Thursday, so that you have time to get settled in, relax a bit, and will be around for our first activities of the weekend which begin at 7pm.

Activity Level: Choose Your Pace

This is a trip that is the traveler’s pick. It allows the traveler to pick the activity level that they would like to do for that day.  As you can see above, there will be many activities to choose from. You can chill all day if you wish or stay engaged with all of the experiences we offer.

Travel Insurance

Missing a vacation is bad enough. Losing the money you paid for your vacation is even worse. Lesbifriends Travel requires you to have travel insurance for any trip you take with us. Your premium is related to your trip cost, so you don’t have to worry about being over-insured. We want to make your travel experience seamless, so sign up and we will get a travel insurance policy for you or we can provide you with a no obligation quote. If you opt not to go with our preferred travel insurance provider, you are required to get your own and proof of insurance may be requested before the trip.

Payments and Payment Plans

All payments to Lesbifriends Travel are non-refundable and non-transferable. This is because Lesbifriends Travel has contractual agreements with hotels, airlines, and other vendors that will not allow us to obtain any refunds. This way we can keep our package prices low and allow you to make monthly payments on your vacation.

When you sign up for a trip, you are automatically signed up for monthly payments and your confirmation email will clearly note your due dates and amount. We suggest you put this payment plan on your personal calendar.

A $75 late fee will be applied to all payments made after the 3-day grace period. Your trip is subject to cancellation without a refund after two missed payments.

  • If you are traveling alone and do not want to spend the extra money for a single occupancy room, we are happy to match you with a like-minded traveler to be your roommate on this trip. We understand that the extra money spent in getting your own room takes away from the money available for you to splurge while on vacation.

    For that reason, we extend each traveler the option of having us pair you with a suitable roommate for no additional cost. Roommates are paired based on room selection and a potential roommate questionnaire if there are several solo travelers. Before the trip, you will be introduced to your roommate, with plenty of time for you to get to know each other before we reach our destination.

  • Do you know someone who is interested in joining our trip but has not been to a Lesbifriend event or trip? Here is your chance to save a little money while bringing them on a trip of a lifetime!

    For every traveler that you refer to our trip, you will receive up to a $150 ($25 cash, $50 current trip credit, or $75 future domestic trip credit, or $150 future international trip credit) referral bonus once that person pays in full. There is no limit to the number of people you can refer; the only condition is that anyone you refer has not already signed up with Lesbifriends.
