Lesbifriend Luminary: Angelyce Serrano
lu·mi·nar·y
/ˈlo͞oməˌnerē/ - n - a person who inspires or influences others, especially one prominent in a particular sphere.
Each month we take a moment to show appreciation for an exemplary member of our community. Affectionately named “Lesbifriend Luminary”, we honor you.
Angelyce Serrano, LCSW, LICSW (she/her) is the founder of Living in Love Psychotherapy, PLLC, a virtual psychotherapy practice rooted in affirming, holistic, and somatic care, serving adults across Washington, DC and New York State.
Living in Love was born from a personal search. Years ago, Angelyce went looking for a therapist who looked like her people, who understood her communities, who could hold the fullness of where she came from without needing it explained. She couldn't find her. And in that absence, a question began to take shape: What would it look like to build the kind of space I had been searching for?
Living in Love Psychotherapy is her answer.
Her practice holds space for those who have too often been unseen in traditional mental health settings: Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities; queer and trans individuals; and people navigating the complex intersections of identity, trauma, and survival. She works with adults moving through anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship wounds, and the lifelong work of becoming, meeting each client with clinical excellence and deep compassionate presence.
At LIL, healing is understood as whole-person work: mind, body, spirit, and story. Angelyce draws from evidence-based modalities woven together with cultural humility and profound respect for lived experience. The belief at the center of it all? Healing is your birthright, and love, in its fullest sense, is both the medicine and the destination.
Angelyce is also co-facilitating our brand new Protect Your Peace: Body & Spirit Series starting this November. If her work is speaking to you, come sit with her in person.
Everyone needs a LIL love!
