Paquita “Que” Wiggins (she/her) an architect, contractor, educator, and founder of Tubman Survival Academy. Paquita earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Tuskegee University and a Master of Science in Construction Management from Catholic University. She also owns and operates PTW Design and Construction, LLC, where she has worked as an architect and contractor on numerous large-scale projects.

In 2018, this self-described Chicago city girl felt called to learn survival skills and committed herself fully to the process. She trained extensively in shelter building, fire making, plant identification, disaster readiness, first aid, archery, firearms, and other areas of outdoor preparedness. In 2020, she founded Tubman Survival Academy to provide a safe and welcoming place for people to gain practical skills, build community, and prepare together.

Que has become a trusted Lesbifriends partner through the CCW and HQL classes she leads for our community. Past participants have shared great feedback about her knowledge, approachable teaching style, and ability to create a comfortable learning environment for beginners. We hope to see you in class on September 26th!

She is also hosting a Queer Glamping and Survival Skills Weekend in Damascus, Maryland, on September 17th - 20th, 2026. The beginner-friendly experience combines glamping, outdoor community, and hands-on survival education. Complimentary training will be provided before the trip, and registration is $75 per person. Check out flyer below and email or call/text Que at (301) 213-9389 for more details.
