Each month we take a moment to show appreciation for an exemplary member of our community. Affectionately named “Lesbifriend Luminary”, we honor you.
Meet Amber Ross (she/her), a licensed psychotherapist, United States Marine Corps veteran, and founder of The Healing Voice Project, a therapeutic and wellness-centered practice focused on grief, trauma, healing, and life transitions.
She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2017 with a minor in Military and Veteran Social Issues.
She is licensed through the Commonwealth of Virginia (License #0904018923).
With over seven years of clinical experience, Amber provides mental health services across community and outpatient settings, specializing in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), complicated grief, trauma-related disorders, and late-life depression. Her approach blends evidence-based interventions with culturally responsive, person-centered care.
Amber also serves full-time with the Prince William County Community Services Board as a Clinical Case Manager and Psychotherapist, where she provides therapeutic services, care coordination, crisis intervention, and ongoing support to individuals navigating psychiatric and psychosocial challenges. Her four years of active-duty Marine Corps service continue to inform her understanding of trauma, resilience, and the unique challenges facing service members, veterans, and their families.
