Join Lesbifriends Travel for a meaningful afternoon of service, community care, and connection. We're teaming up with The DC LGBTQ+ Community Center to support their ongoing efforts to serve queer and trans people across the Washington, DC area. This is more than just a volunteering, it’s an invitation to show up, contribute, and connect in ways that truly matter.
Here's What To Expect:
Our group will be helping with a variety of tasks to support The DC Center’s day-to-day operations and direct service work.
You can expect to:
Organize and tidy their clothing closet
Assemble safe sex kits
Make buttons for upcoming community programs
Support additional on-site needs as they arise
Learn more about the Center’s impact and ways to stay involved
About The Organization:
The DC LGBTQ+ Community Center, affectionately known as The DC Center, is a vital local hub that offers direct services and support to LGBTQ+ residents of Washington, DC. Their work spans health and wellness, advocacy, education, and direct aid; including a clothing closet, food pantry, and wellness resources. Rooted in equity and compassion, The DC Center is committed to cultivating a world where LGBTQ+ people thrive.

What to Bring
Giving back doesn’t stop with your time, we are collecting donations to support the Center’s food pantry and free store.
All attendees are required to bring at least one donation item, and we encourage you to give generously if you are able. Suggested donation items include:
Non-perishable food (always in high demand)
New or gently used clothing (size L and larger are always in demand)
Hygiene and personal care products
Household essentials
We believe that small acts of care create big waves of change, and your contribution will make a direct difference in someone's life.
Monetary Donations
This volunteer event is free to attend. In place of a registration fee, we invite participants to make a donation in support of The DC Center (optional). Every contribution helps sustain the Center’s programs and services for the community.

All donations collected through Lesbifriends Travel will be pooled and donated to The DC Center as a group contribution. Funds will be passed along in full, less any standard processing fees.
